CrossFit For The Community Event Description

Alright! You’ve seen the events, you searched the internet day and night for ways to one up your competition, emailed Klokov for jerk advice, now let me break them down for you! First off, this is an old school event.

Lets get nostalgic. This is a throwback to the golden age. We are going back to a time when everyone wore chucks, before nanos (those still in?), before the booty shorts and knee sleeves, back to a time when a good honest member would no-rep himself damnit. We won’t have judges, because that isn’t what this is about. We will have coaches and event coordinators recording results and urging you on. No TV screens telling you a workout, were gonna write it on a white board, and were gonna put the results on the whiteboard after to. No podium finish, just high fives and sweat angels. Basically this is one GIANT CrossFit class, and you’re all invited, so lets have some fun Saturday.

Many of you won’t get those references, maybe that is a good thing. Every cent donated goes to these kids, and this cause, we have 22 teams. Meaning we have raised a minimum $2200 for this hockey program, that is awesome stuff. Thank you so much.

Okay, lets talk shop:

Event 1A:

12:00 – Max Shoulder To Overhead Per Team Member

Sublime_Resize-01911
– Bar will begin on rack.
– Each team will have a rack with a 35# bar & another with a 45# bar.
– Only one team member may lift at a time
– Declare weight to coach before lift
– Press outs are allowed…but you start running across my gym with a barbell over your head and you better believe I’m going to whack you with a pvc pipe and you will feel shame.

– When the 12:00 timer ends. You will have 2:00 to rest/make your way to the parking lot where the sleds will be waiting…

Event 1B:

“For Time” Sled Push Relay Race (12:00 Time Cap)

Team Member 1: Pushes empty sled (+5lb) 4 Lengths of parking lot
– Tags team member 2

Team Member 2: Places 15lb Plate on sled and pushes sled 4 lengths of parking lot
– Tags team member 3

Team Member 3: Places 15lb Plate on sled and pushes sled 4 lengths of parking lot
– crawls to the finish line and tags team member 4

Team Member 4: Places 15lb Plate on sled and pushes sled 4 lengths of parking lot
– Reaches finish line tags team member 1 aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddd….
Team pulls all the weight off the sled and does IT ONE MORE TIME

  • Pretty straight forward here… just make sure the sled fully crosses the line.

** Each sled will have a 5lb plate on bottom it may remain on the sled to make for easy transition of weights… and to make it 5lb heavier…because it is a 5lb plate

Event 2:

16:00 AMRAP:
10 Front Squats (65lbs)
10 Lateral BB Burpees
10 Calorie Assault Bike
– At the 10:00 mark, one team member must graciously bow out. And again at the 12:00 mark, and again at the 14:00 mark…leaving one pore lonely sole to grind it out for 2:00.

– Reps/Rounds can be divided up any way
– Must ‘reset’ the bike at the end of each round (any team member can do this)
